## Abstract Raman spectra of oriented sodium nitrite single crystals are reported. Half‐widths, peak frequencies and band shapes change when the temperature is varied from 30 to 513 K. Resolution of the Raman bands of the symmetric NO vibrations into contributions from ordered and disordered positi
