✦ Synopsis

The equations ofirreversible thermodynamics are applied to the isothermal-isobaric transport of isotopes in multicompunent electrolytic systems. The resulting flux-force relations can he written entirely in terms of conventional transport coefficients: transference numbers, electrical conductivity, diffusion coefficients of electroneutcal electrolytes and intra-dimusion coefficients. Some applications are discussed.

Different forms of expressing diffusion and heat fluxes in multicomponent mixtures, obtained by methods of non-equilibrium thermodynamics and the kinetic theory of gas mixtures, are analysed and compared. It is shown that an alternative representation of the linear relations of non-equilibrium therm
