β¦ Synopsis
An aerobic mixed culture removing phenol was developed and maintained with a biomass of 2900mg/l-3400 mg/l in a fed-batch reactor by feeding phenol 500 w/l/day l The mixed culture (AS) consisted of two nonphenol bacteria and eight phenol degraders, of which 4 gram-negative rods and 4 gram-positive rods, that could remove about 96% of the fed phenol in 12 hours at 30Β°C*30C.
This paper also reports the stability of the consortium with respect to its constitution and phenol degradation.

## Abstract Aerobic granules effectively degrade phenol at high concentrations. This work cultivated aerobic granules that can degrade phenol at a constant rate of 49 mgβphenol/gΒ·VSS/h up to 1,000 mg/L of phenol. Fluorescent staining and confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) tests demonstrated
## Abstract **BACKGROUND:** In biological treatment of coking wastewater, phenol may decrease the treatment efficiency because of its high concentration and toxicity to microorganisms. Bioaugmentation has been regarded as a good improvement of the traditional biological treatment using isolated deg
A mixed bacterial culture obtained from polychlorinated-biphenyl-contaminated river sediments proved capable of degrading 3-chlorobiphenyl (3-CB) under aerobic laboratory conditions. Almost total mineralization of 150 m g / l of 3-CB occurred when, after 3 days of incubation, the mineral medium was
