Abstract

A lattice model of a melt of rigid copolymeric molecules is proposed. The density of states is calculated for alternating AB‐copolymers with block lengths l~A~ and l~B~. The system under consideration exhibits behavior similar to the two‐dimension Ising model. In the case of l~A~ = l~B~ ≤ 2 there is a second‐order order‐disorder phase transition in the system. Copolymers with longer blocks demonstrate two second‐order phase transitions, or a single first‐order phase transition. The critical temperatures of these transitions are found in analytical form.
