✦ Synopsis

The cell model for diffusion transition has been applied to study first order phase transition and its pressure dependence in polyethylene. The experimental data of Matsuoka have been utilized. The agreement with esperimentat curves gets progressively better at hi&r pressure va!ues because of the accompanied crystaliisation.

The phase transitions wfuch occur in a diace@fene polymer crystal (PIS) at 195 K and a d.iacetyIene mouomex cxy~ti (DCH) at 142 K have been stodied as a function of pressure. For the second-order phase transit~oa in PTS tie pzesswe dependence of the transition tempera-e was found to be less than 0.0
