β¦ Synopsis
Differential scanning calorimety (DSC) was used to investigate the properties of gel pore water in hardened cement paste (hop). By comparing heating and cooling thermograms using a step scanning procedure evidence was found for new phase transitions due to structured water. The new tran.~itions occur at -31 Β°C and -24 Β°C during cooling. On drying the transitions vanish near relative humidities of 70 % and 88 %, respectively. An approximately cylindrical shape was deduced for the gel pores. The sorption hysteresis was also investigated.
