β¦ Synopsis
The close analogy is explored between the phase behaviour of colloidal dispersions of weakly interacting particles and that of conventional molecular systems. The analogues of all three states of matter and phase equilibria may be observed. Different behaviour is predicted depending on the range of attractive forces.
