✦ Synopsis

Phase equilibria in the system CaO-CoO-Co 2 O 3 -MnO-MnO 2 at 700-1200Β°Π‘ in air were studied on the basis of published data and proper experiments. No new compounds were found. The results are presented in the form of 13 isothermal sections of the phase diagram. Compounds and solid solutions formed on the basis of calcium, cobalt, and manganese oxides are promising as catalysts, thermistors [1, 2], electrodes [3], multiferroics (materials possessing both magnetic and ferroelectric properties) [4-6], nanostructured materials [7], etc. Crystals of spinel Co 3-Ξ΄ O 4 representing a three-dimensional ensemble of nanosize defective clusters [8] can be used as sensors of oxygen partial pressure in the determination of its content in gaseous media [9]. The compound Ca 3 Co 4 O 9 [10] and solid solutions based on it [11] are known as thermoelectron materials stable at high temperatures in air.
