β¦ Synopsis
were established. The former system has Ce02 with a fluorite type, CesOs with a C-type rare-earth oxide, and Ce203 with a A-type rare-earth oxide. CeOz and Ces05 have nonstoichiometric compositions, but the stoichiometry of Ce203 was confirmed at 1200, 1249, and 1310Β°C. In the latter system, only the one ternary compound CeFeOS was confirmed under present experimental conditions. On the basis of the established phase diagrams, the standard Gibbs energies of the reactions: (1) # Ce203 + f O2 = Cej05, (2) f Ce905 + 8 O2 = Ce02, (3) f FeJOI + Ce02 = CeFeOS + 4 02, and (4) Fe + Ce02 + 4 02 = CeFeOs, were determined at various temperatures. Also relationships between AC" and the temperatures of the same reactions were determined within the experimental temperature range. o 1985 Academic press, IIIC.
