## Abstract The batch propionic acid fermentation of sugar cane molasses by __Propionibacterium acidi propionici__ PP‐1 was studied at various pH values ranging from 5 to 7. The optimum pH range for cell growth was between 6 and 7, whereas the specific growth rate decreased with the pH in the acidi

✦ Synopsis
CdS thin films were deposited on ZnO and SnO 2 : F substrates by the Chemical Bath Deposition (CBD) method, varying the solution's pH between 9 and 11. The samples were characterized through transmittance and AFM measurements. It was found that the transmittance and the morphological properties as well as the growth rate of the CdS thin films are significantly affected by the solutions' pH. Good results were obtained using pH values between 9 and 10.
