## Abstract Novel hydrogels of interpenetrating polymer networks (IPNs) composed of polyacrylamide and poly(γ‐glutamic acid) were synthesized. In these systems, both polymers were crosslinked independently; this reduced the potential loss of a polymer during the washing process, as often occurs in
