evaluate and begin necessary action on 6750 manufacturing chemicals with reported output volumes of more than 25,000 lbs/y (1134 kg), under the ChAMP initiative. The agency has already issued screening evaluations on hundreds of chemicals and put forward a challenge programme to collate data on inorganic high production volume chemicals. Regulatory and other private programmes must adopt a holistic approach, including an understanding of life cycle effects to ensure continued improvement of sustainability efforts in the cleaning products sector, as well as boost capability to make profit while offering ever-improving economical products that help improve the quality of life.
