A vmatlonal
method IS proposed and utihsed to obtam the fist-order perturbed wavefunctlon for the contact interactlon. Solutions so obtamcd usmg approximate zero-order wavcfunctlons are found to have an error component which becomes steaddy worst with distance, makmg the solutions unusable beyond r = S/Z au. For symmetric molecules like HD the various vanatlond cntena are shown to be equumlent.
