The problem of determining the positions and widths of autoionizing resonances is expressed in a perturbational form and the sum of all perturbation corrections @valuated by a variational procedure.

The method is applied

to the 2sBp IP re~onnnce of helium. The calculated resonance position and width is 60,133 eV and 0.037 eV respectively.
