✦ Synopsis
Hypervirial and Hellmann-Feynman theorems are used to obtain the perturbation energy expansion for the N-dimensional hydrogen atom in an external potential Ar", where a is a positive integer. Coefficients of the energy expansion in A are obtained up to very high order, without explicit knowledge of the wavefunction. All calculations were performed using the symbolic computation language Maple, which enabled us to express in compact form the final results as functions of only two quantum labels. A copy of the Maple program is also included. A similar approach is also applied to the one-dimensional generalized anharmonic oscillator.
