β¦ Synopsis
The effects of axial diffusion in recycle reactors is explored by means of regular and singular perturbation techniques. In contrast to non-recycle systems, even small amounts of backmixing can affect the concentration profile significantly, in view of the connection between the inner and outer solution through the recvcle boundarv condition. This is particularly evident at large recycle ratios and for short reactors.
