Analysis of the holeshapes allowed us to separate the homogeneous and inhomogeneous broadening contributions to this absorption band. The lifetimes T, of the excited states at 4.2 K are estimated to he not less than 80 and 30 fs for ferrocytochrome c and oxymyoglobin, respectively.
