✦ Synopsis

The permeation of water through glyceryl methacrylate (2,3-dihydroxypropyl methacrylate) and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate hydrogels was iricreased by the incorporation of d i m fillers. Both the amount of water at eqiiilibrium and the amonnt of filler in the gel ront ribnte tn increase the permeability of these membranes.

The novel polyetherethersulfone (PES-C) prepared from phenol-phthalein in our institute is an amorphous, rigid, tough material with good mechanical properties over a wide temperature range. To improve its water vapor permeability for the application of gas drying, the PES-C was sulfonated with conce

The permeation behaviors of permeants were investigated in the pervaporation of a homologous series of alcohol aqueous mixtures through a hydrophilic poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA). The PVA membrane was crosslinked with glutaraldehyde. A homologous series of alcohols used in this study were methanol, eth

## Abstract The permeation of acetic (AA), propionic (PA), lactic (LA), oxalic (OA), citric (CA), and tartaric (TA) acids through the bipolar ion‐exchange membrane Neosepta BP‐1 (Tokuyama Corp.) was studied. It was found that the fluxes (__J__, mol cm^βˆ’2^ s^βˆ’1^) and mass‐transfer coefficients (__k_
