This report presents the fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) findings of a multicystic renal tumor in a 52-yr-old woman. The aspirate smears contained clusters of cells with large, irregular nuclei and cytoplasmic vacuoles. Subsequent nephrectomy revealed a multicystic nephroma (MCN). Although most

โฆ Synopsis
A case of peripheral primitive neuroectodermal tumor of the parotid gland region in a 38-yr-old woman is reported. She had a 1-yr history of a large, firm, and slightly tender left parotid-region mass. CT scan showed an invasive tumor involving the parotid gland, mandible, infratemporal fossa, and parapharyngeal space. Fine-needle aspiration cytology of the mass showed a highly cellular, poorly cohesive smear pattern exhibiting small cuboidal cells, with fibrillary cytoplasm forming occasional rosette-like structures. Numerous intact single cells with fragile cytoplasm, finely granular chromatin, and inconspicuous nucleoli were present together with free-lying nuclei in the background. Histologic, immunohistochemical, and ultrastructural findings confirmed the diagnosis.

## Cytologic diagnosis of peripheral neuroectodermal tumors (PNT) on fine-needle aspiration (FNA) smears represents a challenge to the cytopathologist. Usually ancillary studies are used to achieve definitive diagnosis. We retrospectively examined FNA material from three cases of PNT with the aim
A 79-yr-old woman presented with a 5-yr history of swelling of the left cheek. The fine-needle aspiration (FNA) smear showed a spindle-cell neoplasm with capillaries and benign endothelial cells. The spindle cells possessed pleomorphic, hyperchromatic elongated nuclei and a moderate amount of ill-de
Three fine-needle aspiration biopsies from 2 patients with parotid masses yielded large numbers of nontyrosine crystalloids. One patient proved to have a benign cyst that was resected because it did not subside following two fine-needle aspirates. In a second patient, the swelling shrank after a cou
