Abstract
Involvement of peripheral nerves has, thus far, received too little attention as a systemic manifestation of rheumatoid disease. This article describes peripheral neuropathy in six patients with rheumatoid arthritis, all of whom were receiving or had received adrenal steroid therapy. Histologic studies revealed diffuse angiitis and suggested that vascular involvement of the nerve trunk contributed to the pathogenesis of the neuropathy.
