This paper demonstrates that any continuous real-valued function which has an orbit with infinitely many limit points must necessarily have periodic cycles of arbitrarily large prime period. We present an example of a function with an orbit whose limit points are exactly Z+.

Iterations of a special one-dimensional map (trapezoid map) which is a piecewise linear map with a flat top are studied. Using a symbolic dynamical method, it is shown that the stable periodic orbits of the map are characterized as finite shift maximal sequences in the sense extended by Sun and Helm
The accurate computation of periodic orbits of nonlinear mappings and the precise knowledge of their properties are very important for studying the behavior of many dynamical systems of physical interest. In this paper, we present an efficient numerical method for locating and computing to any desir
