โฆ Synopsis
This paper first finds that the high frequency (ฯ) periodic controller suggested in for fixed mode removal, and pole and zero placement, of a class of decentralized systems (A, B i , C i ) all the strongly interconnected channels of which satisfy C i B i = 0, causes large, O(ฯ), oscillations in the outputs. Next it proposes an alternative controller, a dual of the above, that achieves the compensation with oscillations of O(1) only.

The decentralized structure of a large-scale control system imposes constraints on the feedback strategies that can be used. This may lead to fixed modes and structurally fixed modes. In this paper it is discussed to what extent decentralized time-varying feedback control strategies may eliminate fi
