โœฆ Synopsis

Al~a'aet--In this communication, the performance of a typical house with evaporative cooling system (viz. over air-conditioned, non-air-conditioned and shaded rooms) for different conditions have been studied. The room and ambient air temperatures have been monitored for a number of days in the month of October 1988 with the help of a digital multi-channel chart recorder. On the basis of experimental observations, it is observed that an evaporative cooling system having an efficiency of 50%, has significant effect on room temperature of non-air-conditioned as well as shaded rooms.

This paper reports on a feasibility study of a solar-powered heating/cooling system for a swimming pool/space combination in a tropical environment. The system utilizes an absorption chiller and a cooling tower to meet the facilities and locker room load. The heating is accomplished by employing hot
