Abstract
In this paper, we evaluate the theoretical expressions of the average coding rate, the probability of undetected errors and the probability of packet erasure (PE) of truncated Hybrid ARQ schemes with packet and code combining (CC) for direct sequence code division multiple access (DS‐CDMA) downlink systems using a Rake receiver. The different user packets are code multiplexed using a set of orthogonal variable spreading factor (OVSF) sequences. The analysis is carried in two extreme scenarios, with either a constant or a packet‐by‐packet independent multipath channel during the different transmissions. The obtained results are valid for any multipath intensity profile of the channel and take simultaneously into account additive white gaussian noise (AWGN), path gains estimation noise, intersymbol interference (ISI) and the multiuser interference (MUI).
