Large-area silicon drift detectors (SDDs) were used for the first time in the background condition of a collider for precision spectroscopy of the kaonic atom X-rays in the SIDDHARTA experiment for the study of the strong interaction in a low-energy regime. The measurements were performed at the DAF
Characterization of gas jet targets has been carried out using pulsed X-ray radiography. A laser-plasma X-ray source was applied for backlighting of the targets to obtain X-ray shadowgraphs registered with a CCD detector. From the shadowgraphs, characteristics of the targets were determined.
In order to achieve energy resolved X-ray imaging with small pixel resolution, physical processes in the detector material such as fluorescence and charge sharing must be considered. This paper presents characterisation measurements performed with an X-ray microscopy setup for energy resolved imagin
