Abstract
In this paper, the all‐optical exclusive OR gate using an integrated SOA‐based Mach–Zehnder interferometer with a differential modulation scheme is proved to exceed the operation speed limit effectively through numerical analysis for the first time. The control‐signal pulse parameters and delay time are discussed and designed to optimize the performance of the XOR gate. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
