✦ Synopsis

A K type and retractor (Yufu Itonaga, Tokyo, Japan) has been desigoed to allow easy introduction of the stapler through the anus during colorectal anastornosis by the doublestapling technique. The new retractor enabled rapid insertion of the stapler without damage to the anus in ten patients undergoing low anterior resection.
