## Abstract ## Background Heparanase is an endo‐β‐D‐glucuronidase that cleaves heparan sulfate saccharide chains. The enzyme promotes cell adhesion, migration and invasion, and was shown to play a significant role in cancer metastasis and angiogenesis. ## Methods The present study focuses on the
