✦ Synopsis

On behalf of the Annals' Editorial Board, the Editor in Chief gratefully acknowledges the significant contributions of Annals' corps of reviewers. Each year, our reviewers complete more than a thousand reviews of submissions to the journal. The quality of peer review determines the quality of science, and thus the quality of our journal. Our reviewers invest their time and talents to improve the science of our specialty and the success of our journal. This activity is an important scholarly pursuit, and we encourage our reviewers to list this accomplishment on their curriculum vitae and when seeking promotion.

We are especially pleased to announce the names of our top peer reviewers. This year, 50 reviewers met the criteria for this designation, which is based on a combination of review quality, promptness, and the volume of reviews performed.

In addition to our reviewers, other highly skilled and dedicated volunteers are recognized each month on the Annals' Masthead where the Deputy Editors, Associate Editors, Editorial Board members, and Consulting Editors are listed. The publication of a leading peer-reviewed journal requires considerable effort from many individuals. Annals owes a debt of gratitude to all who contribute to the continuing success of the journal.
