โฆ Synopsis
management more thoughtful and exciting. The chapters are short and the authors and editors seem to have gone to some length to ensure that the book has been written in a clear and concise manner. For the most part the chapters are organized in a similar style. This is the first of a series of publications by the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) on Progress in Pain Research and Management. The IASP and the editors, Drs Fields and Liebeskind, have produced an outstanding book. It's not only a bargain in terms of cost, but also a wonderful text: once read, it will change the way most of us approach the treatment of our patients with chronic pain. It is a must for all those who are involved in the treatment of pain patients or involved in basic research in this field. It should also be of great interest to neurologists in general, since it provides a unique approach to the understanding of pharmacotherapy in nervous system dysfunction of a very common clinical problem.
