differed from its predecessors by being held in a ski resort, Mount Buller. The intention, as espoused by Conference Convenor Professor Peter Murphy, was to create a collegial atmosphere with delegates committed to a single site. The conference was well attended (with about 200 delegates) and appeared to be well received by delegates, enhanced by the sunny and mild weather conditions. A strong sense of camaraderie emerged, under the able leadership of cheerleader-in-chief Susan Murphy.
The Council for Australian University Tourism and Hospitality Education (CAUTHE) conferences are focused on an academic agenda of disseminating research results and debating the state of hospitality and tourism education, particularly at university level.
