✦ Synopsis

The single-particle proximity effect between superconductors separated by a tunneling barrier is observed experimentally in double tunneling junctions. It is observed the singleparticle proximity effect changes the current-voltages characteristic (CVC) of an asymmetrical-superconducting-SIS-tunnel junction. An influence of the single-particle proximity effect on the CVC of the asymmetrical SIS junction can be described at least qualitatively by the proposed model.
