โฆ Synopsis
This survey is being conducted on behalf of the American Journal of Medical Genetics to determine the general extent of present utilization of computer-assisted patient information storagehetrieval systems and to obtain specific information on the impact of microprocessing systems in clinical genetics centers. Several highly sophisticated systems have been described in recent years. However, the spectrum of their applicability and the extent to which they have been adopted by others have not been documented. Further, the rapid technological development, worldwide availability, and relatively low cost of microprocessors potentiate relatively rapid adoption of such instruments for patient information management in clinical genetics centers-both large and small-and suggest the possibility and opportunity of capturing significant epidemiological data regarding genetic diseases. This survey has been designed to obtain preliminary information regarding such possibilities.
All groups using such computer programs, here and abroad, or having an opinion on the subject, are requested to kindly fill out the questionnaire form and to return it to Professor
