Stroke is a serious neurological disease, and constitutes a major cause of death and disability throughout the world. The pathophysiology of stroke is complex, and involves excitotoxicity mechanisms, inflammatory pathways, oxidative damage, ionic imbalances, apoptosis, angiogenesis and neuroprotecti
