✦ Synopsis

Abstmct

-Particle velocities were measured in a solid-liquid suspension of polv-sized particles at solids concentrations of 1.c3.6 o/o v/v_ The results of these experiments indicated that particle-particle interactions may play an important role in determining the velocities of the separate particles in the suspension.

A new technique allows for the detection of particle-particle collisions in liquid-solid and gas-liquid-solid fluidized beds from perturbations in the diffusion current of tethered electrodes. A tethered particle, near its anchorage point, can give a good estimate of the collision frequency of a fre
