This paper describes a simulation tool called the Simulated Parallel Architectures in a Distributed Environment (SPADE). SPADE is currently implemented on a network of workstations with UNIX (trademark of AT&T Bell Laboratories) and NFS (trademark of Sun Microsystems). It is developed to provide an
