Escrito em 1932, quando Pagu tinha apenas vinte e um anos, e publicado com o pseudônimo de Mara Lobo (por exigência do Partido Comunista), esta pequena obra-prima de estética modernista e militância revolucionária lançou as bases do sempre crescente mito de Patricia Galvão, a Pagu. João Ribeiro, talvez o maior crítico literário da época, escreveu que se tratava de um: "... panfleto admirável de observações e de probabilidades... Qualquer que seja o exagero literário desse romance antiburgûes, a verdade ressalta involuntariamente dessas páginas veementes e tristes."
Ao mesmo tempo datado e universal, Parque Industrial é leitura deliciosa, e obrigatória para quem conhecer Pagu e o ambiente cultural e político do Brasil nas primeiras décadas do século XX.
