Temporary Magnetism of Nickel. 419 Pre-historic Flax.--Prof. Heer has found that the flax which was cultivated by the inhabitants of the lake dwellings is of a different species from that which is now raised. It had smaller seeds and sent numerous stalks from the ground, while the variety which is now cultivated has only a single stem.--Fortsoh, der Zeit.
