The heating zone dynamics in a Kamyr digester turn out to be periodically time-varying, because recireulating liquor is drawn alternately through one screen, then through another. The process is modeled as an augmented linear time-invariant system, with two inputs and two outputs. Identification is performed using experimental results from an actual plant.
