✦ Synopsis

The synthesis of 1,2,4-trisubstituted imidazoles was demonstrated via the solid phase synthesis of N-alkyl-N-(bketo)amides using a carbazate linker. The approach enabled the assembly of a diverse number of N-alkyl-N-(b-keto)amide intermediates in good yield and purity. Subsequent cyclisation in solution using NH 4 OAc led to the preparation of 1400 1,2,4-trisubstituted imidazoles.
