✦ Synopsis
In the present study, we propose to implement the dynamic viscoelastic finite element algorithm in a scalable distributed parallel environment using a generic message passing library such as PVM. The conjugate gradient algorithm are used for the solution of the system of the equations. Various mesh sizes were considered. The problem is decomposed into a number of regions and is solved in an equal number of processors. The performance of a PVM master/slave visco-elastic finite element program is evaluated on the CM-5.
