UK FILTRATION FIRM WINS ENGINEERING AWARD

Walker Filtration has received the Queen's Award for Enterprise for the third time in its history, the company says.

The criteria for winning the award, given by Queen Elizabeth II on the occasion of her 80th birthday, was based on Walker Filtration's large growth in export markets, with 85% of all products now shipped abroad, the company says.

"The Queen's Award is one of the highest accolades that can be bestowed and we are absolutely delighted to receive it for the third time," said Brian Walker, CEO of Walker Filtration.

"We feel that the award recognises our continuing ambition to become a world leader in the filtration industry and the real strides that we have made in export levels over recent years. This award proves our belief that a manufacturing company in the North East [of the UK] can compete successfully in an international market place.
