US FILTER COMPLETES 19 ACQUISITIONS IN 2ND QTR During its second fiscal quarter ended 30 September 1997, United States Filter Corporation has completed 19 acquisitions. The combined annual revenues of the acquired companies is more than US$215 million. Included in the transactions were Pacific Water Works Supply Co Inc, with 13 branches and headquartered in Puyallup, Washington, near Seattle. PWW serves the water works distribution markets in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. PWW also manufactures water meter products. US Filter said that PW3V, the largest distribution organisation in the Pacific Northwest, was an important geographical addition to its national distribution network. PWW's annual revenues are more than US$70 million. Another acquisition was WaterGroup Companies lnc, a Regina, Saskatchewanheadquartered manufacturer and service provider of consumer water products including a broad line of water conditioning products and components. With annual revenues of over US$40 million, WaterGroup sells to over 60 O(X) Canadian customers through 250 water treatment dealers and 23 retail locations. WaterGroup also serves 20 exclusive and 40 independent dealers in the United States.

Continuing to expand its residential and consumer business, US Filter also atmounced the acquisition of Culligan of Arcadia {l.,os Angeles County L Call fornia and the signing of letters of intent on 8 additional dealers throughout the United States.

US Filter said that it added 58 new locations in the United States, Indonesia, China and Europe during the quarter. Annualised revenues from the businesses I!S Filter acquired during the first six months of its fiscal year totalled approximately US$365 million.
