Packaging Science and Technology is an international publication, with authors and readers throughout the world. Will the demand for international scientijic discussion in the field of packaging increase and, $so, why?
Many things point to considerably increased trade, primarily between the three big trade markets: North America, Europe and Southeast Asia. This trade will make increased demands upon packaging functioning in all three markets, technically and economically as well as environmentally. This means that an exchange of knowledge in the packaging field will be a prerequisite for developing functional international packaging, taking into account the special conditions prevailing in the different markets regarding the supply of packaging materials, packaging design, ways of distribution and climate.
