## BACKGROUND. Mutations in the tumor suppressor gene p53 have been associated with resistance to ionizing radiation and chemotherapy. Paclitaxel and concurrent radiation (paclitaxel/RT) achieve high response rates with locally advanced nonsmall cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC). In vitro data and anima
