The modification of the ρ-meson self-energy due to the coupling to in-medium pions is calculated consistently at finite baryon density and temperature, keeping the full 3-momentum dependence in a gauge invariant way. As a function of nucleon density, the ρ-meson spectral function is strongly enhance

✦ Synopsis
We study the p-wave polarization operator of the p-meson due to pN interactions via the N*(1720) and A(1905) resonances and compute the corresponding.production rate for e+epairs at finite temperature and baryon density. At high baryon density we find a significant shift of the spectrum to lower invariant masses. (~) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
