โœฆ Synopsis

Using a packed column, the rate of ozone absorption into KOH aqueous solutions has been measured. The pH range was 8.5-13.5 and the temperature varied from 18 to 27ยฐC.

Independent measurements of CO, absorption into bufIer solutions containing KAsOZ were used to determine the interfacial area.

The results can be interpreted on the basis of a 6rst order reaction in both 0, and OH-.

The absorption rate of oxygen in alkaline sodium dithionite solutions, in a stirred tank with a flat interfacial surface, has been studied experimentally. Under the conditions studied (12.0 < pH Q 13.7, 2045"C, partial oxygen pressure 0.20 at 1 atm and a dithionite concentration of O.OOWIk20 M), abs

The methods of theory of absorption with reaction are used for the successful development of an "ab initio" model of the oxidation of benzensulfonic acid aqueous solutions by means of ozone. The predictive capability of the model is tested experimentally by means of a U.V. technique developed to thi

The kinetics of absorption of oxygen in aqueous solutions of sodium dithionite was studied in a jet apparatus. The reaction was found to be first order with respect to dithionite for dithionite concentration below 0.08 g mole/l. and second order with respect. to dithionite concentration above 0.08 g

The absorption of mixtures of nitrogen oxides into aqueous solutions of NaOH in the range of partial pressures of 0.004-to O.05-atm NO and 0.002-to 0.015-atm NO, was investigated. Absorption experiments were conducted in a gas-liquid contactor that permitted independent variation of the gas and liqu
