✦ Synopsis
The structure parameters of superconducting and nonsupereonducting TISr2CaCu2OT-z were refined using neutronpowder-diffraction data on the basis of P4/mmm space group. Ald site of oxygen on a TIO sheet is considerably deficient even in the oxygen-rich nonsuperconducting sample; the occupation factor of this site was refined to be 0.88. It decreases to 0.80 in the superconducting sample with a Tc of 58 K. That is, the change in oxygen content and the corresponding one in hole concentration are caused by incorporation and release of oxygen atoms on the TIO sheets. The present refinements also show that a Ca site is about 12% substituted by TI.
