Activation of nucleoside 3' -hydrogenphosphonodithioates with iodine in the presence of nucleosides and amines yields dinucleoside phosphorodithioates and nucleoside phosphorodithioamidates, respectively. Similar activation of nucleoside 3' -methylphosphonothioates yields dinucleoside methylphosphonothioates.
