N-alkylputrescines have been assayed as substrates for the diamine oxidases from pea seedlings and pig kidney using two independent techniques. K, and \I,,, data are reported. In contrast with published observations, t+methylputrescine was oxidised by both enzymes with an efficiency intermediate between that of putrescine and N-ethylputrescine.
